Riyad as-Salihin 18, Hadith 1

“ speak a good word or remain silent ” ―Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Fear the Prayer of the Oppressed.

Fear the Prayer of the Oppressed. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, even if he is an unbeliever, for there is no barrier between it and Allah.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad 12140 Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: 'The prayer of the oppressed is answered, even if he is a sinner as his sinning is only against his own soul,'[49] If we reflect upon the matter we will find that the one supplicating is sincere (and truthful) in his worship and he unites his heart in his supplication. There is nothing which preoccupies him from being earnest in his supplication and this is because he knows that his supplication being answered will definitely be accomplished. The Messenger (SAW) has explained the cause of the supplication not being answered when he said: 'Call upon Allah while you are certain of being answered and know that Allah does not respond to the supplication of the unmindful and heedless heart. The supplicaton of the heart which is unmindful and heedless is not responded to. The heart of the one who is oppressed however, is not unmindful due to his constraint and dire need. Likewise, the one who is in distress, his supplication is answered even if he is not a Muslim. Allah the Exalted said: 'And who responds to the distressed one when he supplicates Him?

The Prophet (saw) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day must be generous with his guest."

A woman came to the Prophet (saw) and complained to him about her husband that he invites too many guests and she has become weary from preparing food for them and hosting them. The Prophet (saw) did not answer and the woman left. Sometime later the Prophet (saw) called the woman's husband and said, "I am your guest today." The man was so happy he went home and told his wife "the Prophet of Allah (saw) is our guest today." His wife was ecstatic and spent time and effort and used every bit of food to prepare for the arrival of the Most Honored Guest, the Prophet (saw). After the amazing joy of hosting the Prophet (saw) generously the Prophet (saw) told the man, 'tell your wife to watch the door from which I leave your home." So the wife watched the door from which the Prophet (saw) left her home and saw all kinds of creatures, scorpions and other harmful creatures leaving the house behind Prophet (saw) upon which she fainted due to the immense manifestation and greatness of what she had witnessed. When she came to the Prophet (saw), he said to her, "this is what happens when the guest leaves your home, with him all kinds of harm, trials and tribulations and harmful creatures depart from your home, and that is the wisdom behind being generous to one's guest and becoming weary doing so." The house in which the guests are frequent and many is a house which Allah loves. There is nothing better than the 'open house' for the young and the old. In such a house descends Allah's mercy and blessings from heaven. The Prophet (saw) said, "If Allah wants good for a people, He sends them a gift." They asked "what kind of gift, oh Prophet of Allah (swt)?" He said, "the guest comes with his own provision, and leaves with the sins of the people of the house." So my beloved, know that the guest is the way to Paradise. Asking for healthy body, eyesight and hearing and refuge from disbelief and poverty

O Allaah, grant my body health, O Allaah, grant my hearing health, O Allaah, grant my sight health. None has the right to be worshipped except You. Asking for healthy body, eyesight and hearing and refuge from disbelief and poverty

Say three times:

Narrated by Abu Huraira (ra): The Prophet said,
"Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts).
And Haya is a part of faith."
 (Bukhari)
 Narrated Aisha (ra):
"I used to enter my house where
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him)
was and take off my garment, saying that only my
husband and my father were there; but when Umar was buried along with them, I swear by Allah that I did not enter it without having my clothes wrapped round me owing to modesty regarding Umar."
(at-Tirmidhi and Ahmed)

 "Say to the believing men that they should lower
 their gaze and guard their modesty:
 that will make for greater purity for them:
 and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.
 And say to the believing women that they should
lower their gaze and guard their modesty;
that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof;
that they should draw their veils over their bosoms
and not display their beauty……."
